Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform well-balanced full-wave driving, by providing two drive circuits to cause a forward current and a backward current to flow through windings and by controlling the backward current depending on the difference between a reference voltage and a voltage corresponding to the current flowing through the winding. CONSTITUTION:The first drive circuit 12 for causing a forward half-wave current to alternately flow through polyphase stator windings 14 and the second drive circuit 13 for causing a backward half-wave current to alternately flow through the windings are provided. A signal from a rotor position detector 11 is applied to both the drive circuits to control their operating states. A voltage corresponding to the current flowing through the stator winding 14 is detected and applied to a comparison circuit 15, which compares the voltage with a reference voltage V. The operation of the second drive circuit 13 is controlled depending on the difference between the compared voltage. As a result, the forward and the backward currents flow in a well-balanced state through the polyphase stator windings 14 to produce high torque without causing vibration and torque scattering.
