Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the evaporation of liquefied gas and install the submergible pump in a large LNG storing tank, by inserting the pump having its own discharge pipe connected thereto into a discharge pipe constituting barrel serving as a guide pipe while sealing the upper part of the guide pipe with LN2.
CONSTITUTION: When the pump body 3 having the discharge pipe 4 connected thereto has come to the position of the LN2 supplying port 9, the pump body 3 is cooled by injecting LN2 from the LN2 supplying port 9 and then it is submerged into the liquid. Here, since the pump body 3 is cooled and LN2 is supplied to liquid surface 10 in a guide pipe 2, evaporation of LNG from the liquid surface 10 can be prevented. When the pump body 3 has been installed to a position under the liquid surface 10, supply of LN2 is stopped. In this state, the pump is set into operation for pumping up LNG via the discharge pipe 4. Here, since the diameter of the discharge pipe 4 can be made smaller than that of the pump body 3, the time required for operatinn the pump after starting of the same can be shortened. In case of drawing the pump 3 out of guide pipe 2, LN2 is supplied to the liquid surface 10 after the pump body 3 is raised above the liquid surface 10 and the port 9.
