PURPOSE:To improve the characteristics of a rotary electric machine by arranging two or more rotor elements having different characteristics on the same shaft, forming one rotor by mechanically and electrically unifying rotor elements, and providing both characteristics in one rotor. CONSTITUTION:A rotor is formed by two or more rotor elements. Each rotor element is designed so that it has different characteristics in starting and running. The rotor elements are unified mechanically and electrically on the same rotor shaft. For example, a rotor core 2 is formed by a rotor element 2a having a large slot- cross-sectional area and a rotor element 2b having a small slot-cross-sectional area, and aluminum die casting is performed all over the rotor. The characteristics C which are excellent both in starting and running as the entire rotor 2 can be obtained based on the characteristics A of the rotor element 2a and the characteristics B of the rotor element 2b.
