Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:N-(2,6-Disubstituted-4-pyridyl)-N'-phenylurea of the formula (X, Y are F, Br, Cl, CN, CF3, OR, SR; R is lower alkyl; Z is F, Cl, Br, H, lower alkyl; A is O, S; (m) is 1, 2).
EXAMPLE: N-(2,6-Dichloro-4-pyridyl)-N'-phenylurea.
USE: A glant growth regulator having cytokinin activity, especially bein used to increase fruit-bearing of melons, yield of grapes and promote the shooting of tobacco.
PREPARATION: A corresponding 2,6-disubstituted isonicotinic acid derivative is used as a starting material to be led to the acid hydrazide, which is converted to the acid azide. The azide is made to react with a corresponding aniline to produce the compound of the formula.
