Abstract

PURPOSE: A solubilized vitamin K injection having improved storage stability, useful for anticoagulation of blood, and comprising a vitamin K, a nonionic surfactant, lecithin, cholesterol and/or a vitamin E derivative.
CONSTITUTION: A vitamin K which is a fat-soluble vitamin, is mixed with a nonionic surfactant, e.g. hydrogenated castor oil ethylene oxide adduct, lecithin, cholesterol and/or a vitamin E derivative, and if necessary a dissolution assistant, e.g. propylene glycol, and dissolved under heating and if necessary an additive, e.g. glucose, to form an ampul filler, which is then sterilized with steam under high pressure to give a vitamin K injection. The resultant injection remains clear for a long time even by the sterilization under high pressure.
