Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce bad color shifting by pre-forming a groove at the portion where a spring and a bimetal are soldered then collecting fused metal in said portion thereby preventing the deformation of said portion. CONSTITUTION:A circular groove 6 is formed at the soldering portion of a spring 4. Said spring 4 is soldered with a bimetal 5 to produce a spring assembly 3 for supporting a shadow mask 1. The shape of the grove 6 may be polygonal but it is preferably to be similar with contacting cross-section at the tip of soldering electrode. Consequently the fused metal at the soldering portion enters into the groove 6 to solder the spring 4 and the bimetal 2 rigidly, thereby the deformation at the soldering portion is eliminated to reduce bad color shift due to the deformation.
