Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate irregularity in erasure and impossibility of erasure by holding an erasing current constant by controlling recording bias currents at the best values respectively by a microcomputer.
CONSTITUTION: The output of high frequency oscillator 14 applying a high frequency bias to erasing head 16 is converted by the 1st transistor 7 into a rectangular wave signal. To obtain this rectangular wave signal, a DV voltage is generated, while a binary signal is obtained from a control signal generated through microcomputer 2, etc., corresponding to bias currents of magnetic heads 31 and 32 and then applied to the 2nd transistor 13 to control a DC voltage applied to the 1st transistor 7 and after the rectangular wave is converted into a high frequency sine wave signal, bias currents are applied to recording magnetic heads 31 and 32. The constitution like this can control bias currents of recording magnetic head automatically and also hold an erasing current constant, so that irregularity and impossibility of erasure can be eliminated.
