Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a soil condition which improves physical properties together with chemical properties of soil, by compounding a granular slag with a peat.
CONSTITUTION: A granular slag composed of a blast furnace slag, a converter slag or an electric furnace slag, is compounded with a peat which has been dryed and crushed, or has not been dryed or crushed. When said granular slag and peat are compounded under consideration of pH of a soil to which they are applied, in such a proportion as to make pH of the soil about 7, auseful bacteria in the soil, propagates with a nutritious organic matter contained in the peat and a nutritious inorganic compound contained in the slag, and securetes amino acids, nucleic acids, vitamines, vegetable hormones, etc., important for the growth of a plant, and fixes nitrogen. On the other hand, the useful bacteria dissolves the inorganic compound in the slag, etc., which are made absorbable into a plant.
