Abstract

PURPOSE: To cultivate chlorella at a high concentration, by cultivating a chlorella cultivated in a dark tank in a culture fluid containing a condensed phosphate and a high iron content kept in a dissolved state in the light.
CONSTITUTION: A condensed phospoate, e.g. sodium or potassium salt of pyrophosphoric, polymetaphosphoric or polyphosphoric acid, in a concentration or 1×10-5W 1×10-3mol/l is added to a culture fluid of chlorella to keep the high iron content of 1×10-5mol/l or higher in a dissolved state in the culture fluid. A chlorella cultivated in a dark tank as an inoculum is then inoculated into the culture fluid to give a concentration of 1g/l or higher.
