Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:A novel recombinant, having a gene which exhibits the complementarity to human interferon messenger RNA, being prepared by inserting ONA synthesied in the presence of its template consisting of human interferon RNA into vector DNA. EXAMPLE:Recombinant Escherichia coli plasmid DNA. USE:Production of human interferon having antiviral and antitumor action. PROCESS:The titled recombinant is obtained by extracting cytoplosmic RNA from a human fibroblast, MG63 cell, etc. induced by ploy (I)(C) (double-stranded RNA composed of polyinosinic and polycytidylic acids), etc. separating human interferon m RNA containing the polyadenylic acid sequence from the cytoplasmic RNA extracted, synthesizing double-stranded DNA with a reverse transcriptase, etc. in the presence of its template consisting of highly active one of the human interferon m RNA thus separated, and then inserting the double-stranded DNA into vector DNA accoring to the recombinant DNA technique.
