Abstract

PURPOSE: A phosphate ester of polyoxyethylene is added to a rubber latex to form an electrically conductive structure with a colorless and tranparent fluid, thus permitting the production of the titled rubber product having an arbitrary color and an electric resistance that does not extremely rises, even when stretched.
CONSTITUTION: An unvulcanized latex of natural rubber or synthetic rubber is combined with an appropriate amount of polyoxyethylene phosphate, e.g., 20 parts by weight of the 50% solution per 100pts.wt. of the latex, and ammonia and they are uniformly dispersed by stirring to prepare an electrically conductive latex. The resultant latex directly or after mixed with a waterdispersible pigment of an arbitrary color is used for dipping an original shape. The film of rubber latex on the surface of the original shape is dried at 50W70°C to remove water and the dipping and drying operations are repeated until the thickness of the film becomes desirable. Then, the film is vulcanized at 100W150°C and removed from the original shape to produce transparent and arbitrarily colored rubber product with a surface electric resistance of less than 9×106ohm.
