Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a composite lens whose curvature and optical path length can be varied easily by combining a colorless transparent solid having high elasticity such as elastic silicone rubber with a colorless transparent solid having rigidity.
CONSTITUTION: Plano-convex thick composite lens 100 is formed by combining lens part 1 made of colorless transparent solid having rigidity such as inorg. glass, methacrylic resin, polycarbonate resin or cured epoxy type optical adhesive with thick part 2 made of colorless transparent solid having high elasticity such as elastic silicone rubber or elastic silicone gel. By applying external force to highyly elastic part 2 from the arrow 10 direction, part 2 is thinned to form 2' shown by the broken line, whereby the optical path length can be made shorter. Thus, the curvature of lens 100 can be varied easily.
