Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled sheet which is restrained extremely from growth of surface bubbles, provided with a thick resin layer and short of tacky substances by a method wherein polystyrene and a low-boiling-point organic compound are extruded in a cylindrical form and cooled in contact with a porous cooling ring.
CONSTITUTION: Polystyrene and a low-boiling-point organic compound are melted, kneaded and extruded from a ringed slit 2 of a die 1 as a cylindrical body 7. A cooling ring 3 of porous material is provided between the ringed slit 2 and a cooling drum 6, and as pressure is given to a cooling medium such as water and the like, the cooling medium is permeated from a cooling medium passage 4 onto the surface of the cylindrical body 7 to quickly cool the external surface of the cylindrical body. On the other hand, when pressure in the air barrel 8 is increased by blowing the air out of an air blow tube 5, the cylindrical body 7 is pushed by that pressure to the intrnal wall of the cooling ring 3 and received by the cooling drum 6 as the internal diameter is expanded. Then, the intended sheet is obtained when it is cut open by a slitter.
