Abstract

PURPOSE: A high refractive-index lens with high surface hardness, comprising a copolymer of diethylene glycol bisallyl carbonate, triallyl isocyanurate and benzyl methacrylate.
CONSTITUTION: A plastic lens with high refractive index and surface hardness, comprising a terpolymer composed of (A) 80W40wt% of diethylene glycol bisallyl carbonate, (B) 10W30wt% of triallyl isocyanurate and (C) 10W30wt% of benzyl methacrylate. A lens comprising a copolymer of said components (A) and (B), has such defect that it is inferior to one comprising the component (A) in surface hardness, which is improved by using a terpolymer containing the component (C).
