Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve durability and to simplify position detection by using a conductor coated with an oil-soluble insulating layer and steel wire coated with an oil- undoluble insulating layer. CONSTITUTION:This cable uses conductor 1 made of a conductive metal, except steel, coated with oil-soluble indulating layer 2 of natural rubber, isobutylene-isoprene rubber, etc., and steel wire 3 coated with oil-unsoluble insulating layer 5 of polyethylene, fluororesin, etc., which are unsoluble with oil, with interposing adhesive layer 4 of an asphalt-based or petroleum jelly-based water proof compound, ethylene-vinyl acetate, etc. Then, two conductors 1 are intertwisted and the intertwisted conductors 1 and steel wire 3 are intertweisted. Further, the formed oil-leakage detection cable is laid along a pipe line, etc., and between two conductors 1, an electricity feeding circuit equipped with an alarm originating member is connected, so that while leadkage is securely detected with oil-soluble insulating layer 2 dissolved with leaking oil, the corrosion of steel wire 3 will be prevented.
