Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to obtain stable read-in signal, by constituting aperture in front of a photoreceiver so that the effect due to the shape of beam from the laser light source to a disc and the shift in the light axis can be reduced.
CONSTITUTION: A beam light l1 from a laser light source 11 transmitts through a polarized beam splitter 14 and it is extended and made in parallel at an extension lens 15 and collected on the information recording track of an optical disc 17 at an objective lens 16. A reflected beam l2 from the disc 17 is collected at a location of focus of the extension lens 15, it is reflected at the polarized beam splitter 14 and incident to a photoreceiver 19 after extension again. Since a circular type aperture 20 is provided in front of the photoreceiver 19, and since the beam diameter of the reflected beam light l2 is an optimum beam diameter for read-out and tracking, the effect due to the shape of beam from the lasser light source 11 to the disc 17 and the shift in the light axis can be reduced.
