Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the optical fatigue of the photosensitive material to improve transfer and cleaning efficiency, by controlling light quantities of the lamp for exposure before transfer and the lamp for exposure before cleaning according to the toner quantity stuck to the photosensitive material drum. CONSTITUTION:The detection output from toner adhesion quantity sensors 5 and 50 is given to control circuit CC. On a basis of the detection output from toner adhesion quantity sensor 5, control circuit CC controls the toner supplement quantity for developing part 4 so that the picture density in the copying material may be always within a proper range automatically and controls the light quantity of lamp L1 for exposure before transfer according to the toner adhesion quantity on photosensitive material drum 1. On a basis of the detection output from toner adhesion quantity sensor 50, circuit CC controls the light quantity of lamp L2 for exposure before cleaning according to the residual toner adhesion quantity on photosensitive material drum 1. Thus, the wasteful optical fatigue of the photosensitive material can be reduced to improve transfer and cleaning efficiency.
