Abstract

PURPOSE:To suppress oscillation mode and efficiently produce a laser output from the ion laser tube by moving a magnet from the enclosure of the laser tube, sliding an aperture of a magnetic unit formed at one end of an insulating post and varying the bore of the aperture. CONSTITUTION:An aperture 11 of a magnetic unit is formed within the laser tube, and the magnet 20 is moved externally in the enclosure 6 when the suppression of the oscillation mode is necessary. The aperture 11 slides the insulating post 3 by the magnet 20 to perform the same function as the variation of the bore 13 of the aperture with respect to the oscillation mode volume. Thus, the oscillation mode can be suppressed, and the laser output can be efficiently produced.
