Abstract

PURPOSE: After purification through specific process, an orthophosphate ester is diluted with an aromatic insulation oil and they are subjected to adsorption, deaeration and dehydration, being purified through simple process to such a high level that it can be satisfactorily used as an electrical insulation oil.
CONSTITUTION: An orthophosphate ester is subjected to rectification where the rectification effect equivalent to 5 or more theoretical plate is obtained and the initial fraction and the residue are excluded by more than 2wt%, preferably about 5wt% based on the total amount of the feed. Then, the purified ester is diluted with an aromatic insulation oil such as diisopropylnaphthalene and they are subjected to adsorption treatment by passing them through a column filled with an adsorbent and/or an electrophoretic adsorber. Further, they are deaerated and dehydrated by means of a rotary evaporator to give the purified orthophosphate ester for electrical insulation oil.
