Abstract
PURPOSE:To fuse a synthetic resin film for packaging an electrode plate for a storage battery ultrasonically and completely at all times by supporting an anvil which is arranged in opposition to a horn in such a manner that both centers are coincided in a swingable condition. CONSTITUTION:The horn 1 having an ultrasonic generator and the anvil 2 are arranged in such a manner that both centers thereof are coincided and the anvil 2 is attached to a supporting stand 4 by a horizontal shaft 3 in a freely swingable manner. An electrode plate 6 packaged by separators 7, 7 made of a synthetic resin film is conveyed to a predetermined position by a roller conveyor 5 and, when the horn 1 is lowered and ultrasonic waves are applied, the separators 7, 7 interposed between the horn 1 and the anvil 2 are fused, but, as described above, because the anvil 2 can be swung around the horizontal shaft 3 as a fulcrum, the horn and the anvil 2 are automatically adjusted to a parallel condition and a complete sealed surface is formed.
