Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable a control in the same manner as a normal time even when a failure is caused in one system by a method wherein a normally-opened communicating path in a B system is closed when a relative movement between a plunger and a balance piston exceeds a predetermined value, in a captioned device in a vehicle brake system.
CONSTITUTION: When a failure in a liquid pressure is caused in B system, the operation in the B system is same as that upon the normal operation except that a balance piston 11 will not be caused to move to the left. On the other hand, when a failure is caused in A system, a liquid pressure is acted on the left side only of the balance piston 11 and as this liquid pressure is increased, a control piston 13 is moved to the left against a spring energizing force of a control spring 16. In this case, if a plunger 5 is not caused to move, communication between small output liquid chambers b1, b2 in the B system is shut off because a flow path thereof is closed by a check valve mechanism and an increase of the output liquid pressure will not be obtained at all, whereby, the plunger 5 is followed the left movement of the balance piston 11 to obtain a liquid pressure in the same manner as that of the normal time.
