Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the effect of engine brake of a two-cycle engine, by providing a pressure reducing valve between a combustion chamber and a section communicated to the atmosphere, and opening the pressure reducing valve about at the time of idling operation of engine.
CONSTITUTION: A pressure reducing valve 10 consisting of a valve body 12 and others is provided upwardly of a combustion chamber 4. The valve body 12 is connected to an accelerator mechanism 20 via a connecting means 30 of wire or the like, in the manner that the valve 10 is opened about at the time of idling operation of engine. Further, the pressure reducing valve 10 is connected to a muffler 41 in exhaust pipe 7 via a pipe 16 and a connecting section 40, so that combustion gas in combustion chamber 4 is passed directly into muffler 41 when the valve body 12 is opened. By this extraction of combustion gas, it is enabled to enhance the effect of engine brake.
