Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce an extra-thin-walled pipe of high m. p. metals such as tantalumn and niobium by forming a film on the outside circumference of a core material through vacuum deposition or other thence removing the core material.
CONSTITUTION: A core material 1 comprising metals or nonmetals is formed on its outside circumference with a film 2 of metals dissimilar from these, for example, tantalumn, niobium, etc. of high m. p. by vacuum deposition, sputtering or other means to a suitable wall thickness. Thence, the core 1 is removed by leaving the film 2 to make a pipe. The removing is accomplished by mechanical means such as drawing, dissolving with acids or solvents, melting by heating and their combination.
