Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce crossover distortion and switching distortion by comparing a voltage at the output terminal of a variable bias system power amplifier to a reference potential between both input terminals of the 1st and 2nd amplification parts. CONSTITUTION:A reference potential developed at connection point P is compared to a potential at output terminal 22 by comparing method 19 and on the basis of its comparison result, E-C voltages of transistors 17 and 18 are controlled to prevent output transistors 15 and 16 from being cut off completely. Since transistors 15 and 16 are never cut off completely, crossover distortion and switching distortion can be prevented from appearing. In addition, since input terminals 19a and 19b of comparing method 19 are connected to balance points of bridge circuit 30 respectively, even fluctuations of idling currents of transistors 15 and 16 exert no influence upon the output of comparing method 19, and consequently the circuit extremely stable against fluctuations of temperature can be realized.
