Thus, the edge part of the can is spread along flange formation surface 35 and rolled out in the diameter direction to form flange part 50 and when formed flange part 50 has a crack or notch, the output signal of sense part 28 has a disturbance, so that the flange crack or notch will be detected in the formation of flange part 50.
