Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare the low-toxic titled agent effective to prevent and suppress the growth of noxious fungi, etc., by using the reaction product of an N-substituted alkylene bisdithiocarbamic acid ammonium salt or amine salt and a lower aliphatic aldehyde as an effective component.
CONSTITUTION: The titled agent is prepared by using, as an effective component, the precipitated compound obtained by reacting (A) the ammonium salt or amine salt of a compound of formula I [X is aliphatic group, xylylene group, etc.; Y is alkyl, group of formula II, III, etc. (m, p are 0, 1, 2 or 3; R is H or alkyl; R2 is H, alkyl or halogen; R3 is H, alkyl or OH)] with (B) a lower aliphatic aldehyde, in a solution. Since the precipitate is hardly soluble or insoluble in water or alcohol, etc., has a prolonged activity, and is free from heavy metals, it is low-toxic against valuable life. The aliphatic aldehyde is, e.g. formaldehyde, chloral, etc.
