Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a one-way clutch, in which cam surfaces having stepped portions are formed respectively in the inner peripheral surface of two turning members and a crescent-shaped connecting member is disposed in a space defined by these cam surface for shifting the connecting member by the cam surface and bringing it into contact with the stepped parts when the turning members are rotated in one direction, so that the turning force can be transmitted in said one direction.
CONSTITUTION: Two turning members 1, 2 are supported on a shaft 4. The turning member 1 is formed with a cam surface 9 and stepped parts 12, 13 shown by broken lines in the drawing. Similarly, turning member 2 is also formed with a cam surface 10 and a stepped part 14. In the space defined by the two cam surfaces 9, 10, there is disposed a crescent-shaped connecting member 3. With such an arrangement, when turning member 1 is turned in a direction A, one end 17 of connecting member 3 is held in engagement with the stepped part 12 and the other end 18 is held in engagement with the stepped part 14 of member 2, so that the turning force can be transmitted. On the other hand, when turning member 1 is turned in the opposite direction B, one end 18 of connecting member 3 is held in engagement with the stepped part 13 but the other and 17 is not brought into engagement with the member 2 by the function of cam surface 10, so that the turning force is not transmitted.
