Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a piston assembly from being assembled when a necessary part is lacked by a method wherein the piston is fitted into the necessary part after it is detected electrically that the necessary parts are prepared in a predetermined condition.
CONSTITUTION: A movable plate 7 is stopped at a position where a part inserting hole 9 thereof is aligned with a proximity switch 2 provided on a base 1, then, caps 16 and spacers 17, as the parts, are inserted into respective parts inserting holes 9 under sequentially stacked conditions. Subsequently, existing of the spacer 17 is discriminated separately, and when all the spacers 17 are incorporated normally, all the proximity switches 2 are closed and a detecting signal is inputted into a control circuit 13 while a solenoid switching valve 15 is operated by an output signal from the control circuit 13. The movable plate 7 is advanced to abut against a stopper 4 by the operation of this valve 15 through an air cylinder 10. Next, the pistons 18 are inserted into the caps 16 and the spacers 17 and thus the caps 16 and the spacers 17 are incorporated into the pistons 18.
