Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the color balance of an image and make adjusting work easy by setting a range control circuit adjusting the contrast of the whole image and a tone control circuit correcting the color tone in common with every color.
CONSTITUTION: Range control circuit 45 is a circuit adjusting the contrast of the whole of an image and determines the range of density by fitting one point each of the light part (highlight) and the dark part (shadow) of an original to reference minimum level VH and reference maximum signal level VS of an amplifier for every color of yellow, magenta, cyan and black. Tone control circuit 46 is a circuit correcting the tones of the highlight, intermediate and shadow parts, and it is set behind color signal change-over circuit 44 together with circuit 45. Thus, circuit 45, 46 where many points are adjusted are made common to every color to improve the color balance and work efficiency.
