Abstract

PURPOSE:To cause annealer heads to accurately follow-up the seam line by detecting the circumferential displacements of the seam line of a seam pipe conveyed, correcting the value thereof depending upon the conditions of the seam pipe and changing the annealer heads with this as a target value. CONSTITUTION:A seam pipe 10 having been welded in welding equipment 20 enters continuous annealing equipment at a conveying speed V, where the seam line is annealed by plural annealer heads 22, 24, 26, 28. In this case, the seam line A deviates from the working position extention line A0 to the circumferential direction because of the twisting of the seam pipe 10; therefore, the deviation amount is detected with a detector 12 and is inputted to a digital roller 38. The controller 38 outputs the target value for an optimum seam deviation amount for every annealer head to an annealer driving circuit 40 based on the deviation amount as well as the plate thickness, pipe diameter and conveying speed of the seam pipe 10 and the positions X1-X4 of the respective annealer heads inputted from a setter 36. From this circuit 40, the target values are outputted to the follow-up devices of the respective heads, whereby the respective annealer heads are moved correctly to the opposing seam line position.
