Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a tennis ball having less gas leakage by a method wherein raw material to be kneaded comprising butadiene rubber mixed with a specific additive agent, vulcanizer, promoter and phenol resin is formed to a semispherical shape and two of the semispherical shaped materials are closely contacted with each other.
CONSTITUTION: Various kinds of substances such as butadiene rubber, green rubber, hydrosilicic acid, zinc oxide, polyethylene glycol, stearic acid, with DM, D applied as a promoter, sulphur S applied as a vulcanizer, and a phenol resin are mixed with each other to form a needed green material. The needed green material having a required size and the same volume or amount are separately cut apart, each of the separated green pieces is put in a semispherical mold under a conventional manner and then heated or baked, resulting in making the resilient semispherical items 1. To the open edges 2 of the resilient semispherical items 1 are applied adhesive agent and the items are closely fitted so as not to be separated and finally a ball-shaped item is formed.
