Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the lowering of the appearance and characteristics of the surface layer of the rubber by a method in which the rubber is provided its surface with a water-repellent film before vulcanization and then vulcanized by means of steam.
CONSTITUTION: The water-repellent film is formed in advance on the surface of the rubber to be vulcanized by heating with steam, by dipping the rubber molding before vulcanization in a water repellent, e.g., silicone oil, a fluorine-containing resin, a grease, a vaseline, a mineral oil, or other fats or oils, for example. As needed, the rubber product vulcanized is washed with a warm water containing a detergent to remove the water-repellent film.
