Abstract

PURPOSE: To express characters and designs to a fountain form having a waterfall shape of a fountain apparatus by providing movable plate groups indivisually movable to a foward and a rearward direction in many rows to each stage of a waterfall to a transverse direction and controlling the movement of the movable plate.
CONSTITUTION: A water tank 1 is provided in a trough shape for a waterfall with a definite length in such a manner that front wall 1a is lower than a rear wall 1b or both side walls and arranged in a stepwise manner so that water flooded from each front wall of the water tank in an upper stage horizontally as well as mutually while the space is maintained respectively to an upward and a downward direction is flowed into the water tank in a lower stage. To the space of an upward and a downward direction of each water tank, movable plates 5 capable of being moved indivisually to a longitudinal direction of the water tank, that is, to a forward and a rearward direction transversely are arranged and controlled by an actuator 6 such as a fluid pressure or an electromagnetic actuator indivisually provided to each movable plate 5 and characters or designs are expressed in such a position that the waterfall flooded out downwardly from an upper water tank to a lower water tank is not seen from the front and concealed in the rear by the movable plate groups 5 concealing the waterfall in the rear.
