Abstract
PURPOSE: Indole and DL- or D-serine are used as starting materials, an enzyme which racemize serine is added to the enzymatic reaction system for synthesizing L-tryptophane where some of enzymes are immobilized, thus producing L-triptophane.
CONSTITUTION: Indole and DL- or D-serine are used as starting materials and tryptophane synthetase or tryptophanase and an enzyme racemizing serine, both or one of which are immobilized on appropriate carriers, are made to act on the starting materials, whereby at least one part of D-serine is inverted to L-serine and simultaneously the reaction between L-serine and indole is effected to product L- tryptophane.
