Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the titled material capable of furnishing a good appearance and glossy molded product with enhanced stability and curing speed at the molding process, by adding a derivative of sulfonic acid and Na2CO3 to components including a novolak type phenol resin, hexamethylenetetramine, and others.
CONSTITUTION: A composition consisting of (A) a novolac phenol resin, (B) hexamethylenetetramine, (C) a releasing agent, (D) a filler, and (E) a coloring agent is added with (F) a sulfonic acid derivative which releases the acid at 120°C or higher, in an amount of 1W10wt% of (B), and with (G) Na2CO3 in 0.5W5wt% of (B); all the components are mixed, blended, and crushed to provide a phenol resin molding material. As (F), ammonium sulfonate or diammonium imidosulfonate is preferable. This addition enhances the stability in the cylinder at injection molding; an acid is released in the metal mold to effect a rapid curing. Adding Na2CO3 further improves the stability in the cylinder.
