Abstract
PURPOSE: To easily obtain a polyarylene polysulfone which is useful as a heat- resistant resin by the reaction of an amino group-containing polysulfone with a specific constitutional unit with an acrylate compound.
CONSTITUTION: A polysulfone having (meth)acrylate groups on its side chains, consisting a constitutional unit of the formula III, is obtained by the reaction of an amino group-containing polysulfone, having a constitutional unit of the formula I [where Ar1 is a 6W10C (2+p) valent aromatic hydrocarbon, Ar2 is a 6W10C (2+g) valent aromatic hydrocarbon, Ar3 is a 6W15C divalent aromatic group with or without hetero-atoms such as S, O, etc.; -X1- and -X2- are each a bond such as -O-, etc., p and q are each 0W2, and p+q is 1W4], with an acrylate compound of the formula II (where R1 is a 2W5C alkyl group, R2 is H or methyl group, and X3 is a halogen or a trihalomethyloxy group).
