Abstract
PURPOSE:To realize a reproduction of a specified color with a low or high saturation without giving any effect to the reproduction of other colors, by obtaining an optional color difference signal and then carrying out a modulation via the subcarrier wave having the phase coinciding with the modulation axis of the color difference signal. CONSTITUTION:The optional color signals E1 and E2 are obtained through the matrix circuit 22 and from the signals R and B which are obtained from R and B signal separation circuits 4 and 5. These signals E1 and E2 are applied to the subtracting circuits 23 and 24 to produce the signals E1-Y and E2-Y each. These signals are then amplified by the amplifiers 25 and 26 to be led to the balanced modulators 10 and 11. And the ratio of gains between the amplifiers 25 and 26 is selected larger than the NTSC system. On the other hand, the subcarrier wave SC sent from the output terminal 16 of the synchronous signals generator 15 is given to the phase shifter 27 to produce the subcarrier wave having a delay of 90 deg.+alpha deg. compared with the burst signal. This subcarrier wave is delayed by 90 deg. through the phase delaying unit 20 and then led to the modulators 10 and 11 to give a balanced modulation to the outputs of the amplifiers 25 and 26 each. In this way, the saturation of e.g. the green color can be increased without giving any big effect to the reproducibility of other colors.
