Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the amount of a waste paste as well as equalize the thickness of the paste applied to an electrode grid, by injecting a flat paste, which is sent through a paste-feeding nozzle by pressure feed, on the surface of the electrode grid, and by packing the paste into the electrode grid by means of a packing roller. CONSTITUTION:Two parallel plates of electrode grids 2 are placed on a belt conveyer, and they are sent continuously under a paste-supplying nozzle 7 at a high speed. At the same time, a paste 5 is sent out from a paste pump by pressure feed, and it is injected through the paste-supplying nozzle 7 over the whole surface of two parallel electrode grids 2. After that, the electrode grids 2 are passed under a packing roller 8 to pack the paste 5 into the electrode grids 2. Here, in applying a flat paste 9 to the electrode grids through the paste-supplying nozzle 7, the width of the paste-supplying nozzle 7 should be cut into two equal halves in order that the paste should not be supplied on the seam of two parallel electrode grids 2.
