Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the assembling properties and enlarge the swing amplitude of a pendulum by providing a balancer fitted firmly with an escape wheel, a pallet fork escapement driven for swinging by the escape wheel and two weights of an arm swinging in linkage with the pallet fork escapement.
CONSTITUTION: When an pendulum part 3 is tilted to the right side as shown by X, a pallet fork escapement 46 and a balancer 55 are displaced so as to maintain a balanced state by the force of gravity. Accordingly, the state of engagement of the pallet fork escapement pin 48 of the pallet fork escapement with a escape wheel 44 in the balancer 55 is changed. This means that the escape wheel 44 is moved by one tooth to give the force for swinging to the pallet fork escapement 46. This force acts so that the swing of the pendulum part to the right is inten-sified and thus the main body 2 of a clock and the pendulum part 3 are energized for swinging. Owing to such a constitution, assembling properties are excellent, and furthermore, since the weight 54 of the pallet fork escapement can be set at a larger distance than the center of the swinging of the pendulum 3, the/small swing angle of the weight 54 suffices, and, in addition, a large/amplitude of the motion of the pendulum can be obtained.
