Abstract
PURPOSE:To make S/N of a defect signal excellent by a method wherein a digitalized image in the same place, which appears in different positions at every one frame in synchronization with the velocity of a moving article, is integrated on the same memory and housed therein. CONSTITUTION:The sheetlike article 1 to be detected moving at a fixed velocity is picked up by a television camera 2. An analog video signal from the camera 2 is inputted in an A/D converter 4 through a synchronizing separator 3 and is transduced into a digital video signal. After being transduced into digital values, digital signals for several frames are shifted by the distance of moving during one frame period and integrated and then is stored in the memory block in a memory 9. A block out of the memory blocks of the memory 9, for which addition is performed at prescribed number of rotation, is read in by a defect-detecting signal output device 10 through a memory selector 8, subjected to the threshold-value processing and, when any defect is detected, a detection pluse 13 is outputted. In this way, the S/N of a defect signal can be made excellent.
