Abstract

PURPOSE: To efficiently perform parting to individual cells in the manufacture of liquid crystal display elements by plural production techniques, by scoring the respective intended cutting lines of both glass substrates and exerting pressure thereto continuously longitudinally and transversely by the use of orthogonal pressing elements having sharp blades.
CONSTITUTION: At the time of opposing glass substrates 1, 2 formed with a plurality of electrode patterns, and sealing 3 the part that becomes the peripheral parts of the respective elements then parting the substrates to individual cells, scores 1a, 1b..., 2a, 2b... are given respectively to the intended cutting line positions.
