Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture a magnetic head floating face that is mechanically stable enough, by sliding the floating face of a magnetic head finished by being polished on a hard disk surface. CONSTITUTION:After the floating face of a polished magnetic head is brought into contact with a hard disk surface, the disk is turned to remove flashes of the floating face and residual abrasive grains while the magnetic head floating face slides on the disk. The hard disk is that made of a material of hardness equal to or more than that of a head core material such as quartz glass and borosilicate glass. Thus, the magnetic head floating face can be obtained which is mechanically stable enough.
