Abstract
PURPOSE: To realize a measurement for the phase difference between the level of the piezoelectric signal supplied from the charge detection electrode and the dynamic impulse, by detecting the piezoelectric effect with addition of the charge detection electrode adhered on both surfaces of the sample for measurement of the viscoelasticity and the charge amplifier.
CONSTITUTION: The sine wave vibration is applied to one end of the sample 2 via the vibrator 3, and the input distortion amplitude is detected by the distortion gauge 4 to be supplied to the indicator 15 via the amplifier 9 and the output adjuster 10 and with the switch 13 set at the position (a). The indication is set to the full- scale with the adjuster 10 to know the amplitude at the position of 10. At the same time, the switch 19 is set at the (d) side, and a full-scale is secured for the indicator 21 having the same property as the indicator 15 via the output adjuster 18. Then the scale of the polarization amplitude is known from the position of the adjuster 18 to which a calibration is given previously. Then the switch 19 is set at the position (e), and thus the differnece between the polarization and the distortion of the same amplitude is shown to the indicator 21. Accordingly, the difference amplitude between the distortion and the polarization becomes as 2sinδ/2, where the full-scale is set to 1 with the phase difference angle between the distortion and polarization is set to δ each. Thus the phase angle can be read directly as tanδ on the meter. And the piezoelectric amount is obtained in the form of vector. Thus the piezoelectric stress constant can be calculated.
