Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the drooping of the roll coupling, by supporting the spindle from the downside, by fitting the holding ring into the roll coupling, and by guiding horizontally the roll using the link mechanism, when the roll is to be rearranged. CONSTITUTION:At interchanging the roll, the spindle 12 is supported from the downside, and the roll coupling 13 is horizontally held by the guides 25, 26; under this condition, the roll 1 is pulled away from the roll coupling 13. When the new roll is to be inserted, the parallel link mechanisms 19, 20, are temporarily stopped under the condition that the roll 1 and the roll coupling 13 are not aligned yet. Next, the spindle 12 and the roll coupling 13 are brought down until the guide 28 touches the upper surface of the arm 24; and the roll 1 is inserted into the open mouth of the roll coupling 13 under the condition that the end face of the roll 1 is aligned with the open mouth of the roll coupling 13. Hereby, the simple interchange of the rolls can be carried out easily.
