Abstract

PURPOSE: To estimate nondestructively the degree of insulation deterioration of the electrical machinery and apparatus, by paying attention to the inflection point in the retention diagram of resin showing chemical change correlated with characteristic of insulation deterioration of the insulating structure, installed to the electrical machinery and apparatus to be measured.
CONSTITUTION: A monitoring column filled with resin showing chemical change correlated with characteristic of insulation deterioration of the insulating structure of the electrical machinery and apparatus, for instance, epoxy resin powder is installed in advance to the electrical machinery and apparatus, and this column is taken out at a proper time, at regular intervals. Subsequently, the retention diagram is prepared by installing this column to the negative-phase chromatograph, by which the inflection point (transition point of glass) is obtained, and a variation of the transition point of glass of insulating resin, accompanying the operation time is derived. And the degree of insulation of the electrical machinery and apparatus is estimated based upon the relation between deterioration of the dielectric breakdown voltage, accompanying the thermal deterioration which has been derived in advance by use of a model having the same insulating structure as the actual machinery and apparatus, and variation of the glass transition temperature of the filling resin, which has been measured by use of the monitoring column filled with insulating resin powder.
