Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform a matrix display with good balance by a method wherein the identification bits which can discriminate between a capital letter and a small letter are provided to decide the kind of the unit time information.
CONSTITUTION: The decimal counter of the 10sec digits generates the 10sec digit signal of 3 bits and the like and accesses the character generator such as ROM, etc. via an electronic switch 10 to generate the matrix display scan signal, thus, 10sec digits and the like are displayed in the small letters. On the other hand, the decimal counter 5 of 1min digits generates the one minute unit time information of 4 bits including the identification bit and accesses the character generator. As a result thereof, the time information such as one minute digits is judged by the character generator, thus, one minute digits, are displayed in the capital letters. By means of the capital letter display and the small letter display in accordance with these digits, the display of the good balance and easy to see is performed.
