Abstract
PURPOSE:To lengthen the preservation time of an air battery by sealing the air- supplying hole of the battery with a sealing material whose main component is polyester. CONSTITUTION:The bottom of a positive-electrode can 1 which also serves as a positive terminal is provided with an air-supplying hole 2. The air-supplying hole 2 is hermetically sealed by a sealing material 11 by using a pressure-sensitive adhesive 12 which is layed between the hole 2 and the sealing material 11. As occasion calls, a complex sheet is used for the former sealing material 11; the complex sheet consists of a polyester sheet 13, and sheets which are made of a synthetic resin such as polyethylene or polypropylene and are superposed on the surfaces of the sheet 13.
