In this case, since the counter 21 which counts down the reproducing reference signal from the tape 18 is reset by the counter 15 which counts down the reference signal from the generator 14, the outputs of both the counters become in the same phase. Accordingly, the servo-disorder at the mode change-over point by the switch can be prevented.
