Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the heat input so as to improve remarkably the heating function for cold material to be heated in refining of steel using an oxygen top-blown converter having bottom- blowing function, by using a multiple pipe as a bottom-blowing nozzle, and by charging liquid fuel or liquid hydrocarbon through spaces at inside and outside of an oxygen gas pipe during melting period of cold material. CONSTITUTION:A nozzle set under the surface of molten metal of an oxygen top-blown converter having bottom-blowing function is made of multiple pipe at least not less than tripple structure. That is, a pipe 7 is placed at the center of a double pipe composed of an outer pipe 1 and an inner pipe 3, and blowing oxygen is introduced through the space 4 made between the inner pipe 3 and the pipe 7, cooling material such as hydrocarbon etc. for the nozzle through the space between the inner pipe 3 and the outer pipe 1, and neutral gas such as Ar, N2 through the pipe 7 during oxygen blowing. In heating and melting the cold material charged into the converter, oxygen is blown into the converter through the oxygen passage 4, simultaneously liquid fuel such as kerosene, or hydrocarbon such as propane is blown through the space 2 and the pipe 7 thereby burning the liquid fuel or the hydrocarbon with the oxygen so as to heat the gas, so that the cold material is heated and melted in a short time and the operation ratio of the converter is increased.
