When index pulse P1 cannot be obtained during existence of an over-scan part, the output of monostable multivibrator 46 which is triggerred by the trailing edge of blanking signal Bc becomes O automatically to turn off switch 27. Since FF47 is reset still, switch 26 is turned off. Consequently, the electron beam quantity is small, and generation of secondary electrons is suppressed to a minimum.
